The Next Career

Years back, I was invited to take over a role where the Group CEO is to retire in a year time then.

But it was an overseas position with about few hundred employees and other sibling companies linked to it.

As tempting as it may be to restructure and scaling an organization of such size, I didn't take it up eventually.

Few reasons: Kids at such tender age, wife, parents and current businesses, and no successors in mind to take over.

I am not worried about the stigma of why when you are running your own businesses, do you wanna take up a job job reporting to someone else.

I see it differently instead.

In business, teamwork triumphs. You move as a force and you suffer and enjoy it together going thru the Ups and Downs.

I always love those thrills and having spent over the past 3 decades in Startups (my first biz at 17 years old), and running BlackStorm doing all that, it be interesting to look into managing traditional businesses, transforming that into another power house of that industry.

After all, the drive is not the money but the sense of achieving more things in the business world. I did some in the little Startup world where I enjoyed alot, no doubt. But if an opportunity comes knocking, I won’t hesitate, again.
